For optimum convenience and flexibility, for many of its long-term care and short-term rehabilitation programs and services we accept:

Transitional and respite programs are private pay options, not generally covered by insurance.

Expectations

Because we understand that it’s never easy to put the care of a loved one into the hands of others, we are always available to address family concerns. What’s more, we will always strive to provide an honest and realistic assessment of what new patients and residents and their families can expect upon moving to our facility.

Dining Experience

Creating an enjoyable dining experience for our residents is a priority. While offering a wide variety of tasty and nutritious menu choices, our dieticians are diligent about adhering to individual dietary restrictions, including allergies, and therapeutic diets.

KASHRUTH

Daughters of Israel adheres to kosher dietary laws and we ask residents and family members to respect this policy when bringing outside food into the facility.

MENUS

Menus are posted weekly and can be picked up in the Dietitian Office on Mondays. Residents and family members can discuss food preferences with their unit’s dietitian to personalize their menu. The Food Committee, which meets monthly, provides a forum for residents to suggest menu items.

TWO CENTS CAFÉ

For the convenience of our residents and guests, Two Cents Café, located at the intersection of Ben Gurion Boulevard and the Slobodien Pavilion corridor, is open Sundays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. It is closed on Saturdays and Jewish holidays, including all eight days of Passover.

We take the well-being of our residents very seriously, and we want everyone at our facility to feel as comfortable here as they would in their own homes. We’ve recently renovated all our rooms to reflect this commitment to comfort and convenience, with:

Daughters of Israel residents enjoy a wealth of social and recreational activities; lifestyle enhancements and amenities that include newly renovated rooms, restaurant-style dining, private phones, and flat screen cable television.

Hospice & Palliative Care Services

Daughters of Israel offers hospice services and palliative care for residents who have a terminal diagnosis. Partnering with leading area hospice centers, this program emphasizes pain control and emotional support for both the resident and family. Hospice specialists provide care, services and referrals in conjunction with the Daughters of Israel medical and nursing staff.

The hospice professionals include nurses, case managers, social workers, clergy, counselors, aides and volunteers. In addition to the skilled nursing care provided at the Home, specialized hospice services include pain management, psychosocial support, spiritual and bereavement counseling in either individual or group settings, assistance with personal care needs, nutritional guidance, music therapy, art and massage, and respite care for family members.

Pain Management

Innovative Treatments and Technology

Daughters of Israel is one of the few facilities in the region to offer the specialized Accelerated Care Plus (ACP) modality program. ACP's pain management techniques – which incorporates the use of Electrotherapy, Therapeutic Ultrasound, Short-Wave Diathermy and Infrared Therapy – helps to improve patient outcomes and optimize functionality gains. In addition, the modalities introduce new treatment options for patients with more medically complex conditions.

Residents and patients coping with a wide range of conditions and disorders may benefit from our pain management program. Our specialists utilize the latest equipment and innovative procedures to diagnose and treat pain according to individualized needs.

Our program includes treatment for:

  • Back and neck pain
  • Chronic abdominal pain and pelvic pain
  • Complex regional pain syndrome
  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Disorders of the nervous system
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Osteoporosis and arthritis
  • Spinal cord injuries

In-house treatment and pain management techniques include ultrasound, electrical stimulation, whirlpool, cold and heat therapy, as well as physical therapy and psychological support

Nutritional Management

For residents and patients with nutritional disorders, as well as those with weight management issues, we offer a comprehensive nutritional management program.

Individualized plans are developed for both risk reduction and/or management of the medical conditions impacted by an individual’s nutritional status, including:

  • Diabetes
  • Cancer
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Hypertensive disorders
  • Lipid disorders, and
  • Gastrointestinal dysfunction

When focused on the management of obesity, services include:

  • Nutritionist-designed meal planning
  • Exercise
  • Nutritional education
  • Counseling and behavioral support needed to accomplish long-term weight management goals.

Wound Care Management

For patients with hard to heal wounds, our comprehensive wound care program includes a broad range of leading edge therapies and treatments, including:

  • Surgical wound debridement
  • Chemical wound debridement
  • Wound VAC
  • Burn care
  • Ultraviolet light therapy
  • Tissue ultrasound
  • Electrical stimulation

Our full-time staff includes a physician wound care specialist and trained wound care nurses who play an active role in assessing, diagnosing, and overseeing all wound care procedures and protocols. To prevent recurrence, our unique whole person approach to care also stresses wound prevention and self-management.

The program is designed to treat a wide range of problems, including:

  • Diabetic ulcers
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Arterial and venous ulcers
  • Burns
  • Infections
  • Surgical wounds
  • Amputations

Also treated are complex wounds resulting from conditions that
compromise circulation, such as: diabetes, traumatic injury,
surgical breakdown, congestive heart failure, vascular disease,
incontinence, obesity, renal failure, lymphedema and others.
